Silence or music?

It’s strange, when I work alone I usually prefer silence, but in a team I like to listen to music and the radio.

Your greatest extravagance?

Quitting my secure job as an Air Force Officer to become a designer

Your most precious possession?

My daughter Elisa!!!!

The best moment of the day?

Early mornings just awoken.. but only if I DON’T have to get up.

In the evenings with the whole family on my bed listening to mum reading stories

The book you hold in your heart?

Two quite different books:

The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket by Edgar Allan Poe, and Bar Sport by Stefano Benni.

The animal you feel “nearest” to you?

King Julien in Madagascar

A relaxing moment?

Watching an animation film on the sofa with my wife and daughter

Your dream when you were a child?

To become a fighter pilot

Your idea of design?

Design is a word much overused, in my opinion, incorrectly. An object becomes design when you start from scratch, with a blank sheet of paper or by using your head… if it has a new form and/or use… if it didn’t exist before and now it does. The word itself, ‘design’, in all its simplicity, explains it all.

A must-have design object?

There isn’t an object that I love above all others. However I do go crazy for Jean Prouvè’s chairs.

Your style in a few words?

Your idea of success?

To believe and persevere… in spite of everything!

Your motto?

We can do it!
