Seating on birch plywood

There are many reasons to choose a product made by birch plywood: lightness, hardness and high strength. Today I want to compare three minimal and simple projects maybe you like to put in your - I'm sure - minimal livingroom.

 

Chair 23D is the last project of berlin based designer Gustav Düsing. Led by the idea of flat packaging and easy assemblage, the single elements of this chair are planar and designed to be slotted into each other, without the necessity of any glue or screws. An interlocking system allows to maintain the correctly position of joints which, once they are fully assembled, cannot be dissembled again.

"Thanks, no sugar" is an armchair designed by Dirk Ploos van AmstelThis object was designed to meet the growing need to easy chairs for contract. The most important thing was the research of comfortable sitting position, designed with a rocking balance mechanism and without use of fabric, upholstery or cushions.

 

 

 

 

 

 

"A Stool" was a part of "A Range", a furniture collection created by Design Studio ByAlex, born out of a desire to create stylish yet functional furniture at the forefront of innovation.
