// 01. LONDON //
The London 2012 Festival is the biggest festival the UK has ever seen. From 21 June – 9 September 2012, artists from all over the world are coming together in celebration of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games. Check out live performances at the new exhibition space The Tanks @ Tate Modern, or visit East London’s public spaces where a new contemporary art commission called Frieze Project East will be on show.
While you are there don’t forget all the exhibitions that are currently on, like British Design from 1948 to 2012 and Heatherwick Studio at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Bauhaus at the Barbican, the unmissable Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy, Jacob Hashimoto at the Ronchini Gallery and the Serpentine Pavilion 2012 designed by Herzog & de Meuron and Ai Weiwei.

// 02. HELSINKI //
This year Helsinki is World Design Capital 2012, and as such has prepared an incredible amount of events that span from design to architecture. This summer check out the Pavilion designed by the Aalto University's Wood Program, go shopping at the Finnish Design Market, and visit the design exhibition by Nokia.
Oh! And don’t forget that from 6th to 16th September there will be Helsinki Design Week, while from the 12th to 16th September do not miss Habitare, the largest furniture, interior decoration and design fair in Finland with a special ECODESIGN exhibition.

// 03. BARCELONA //
Summer in Barcelona is HOT if you want to understand what is happening in the world of design today. Fadexpo gathers together the best of this year's designs and architectures all in one place. And while you are there, remember to download the latest app BCN Design Tour, rent a bicycle and go discover Barcelona’s design culture!
PS: Do not forget that in early October Barcelona will hold its own Design Week as well!

// 04. BERLIN //
All those prototypes, studies and semi-finished products and designs, are they binned? Of course not! Go and see a selection of them at the Alessi Museum in Berlin at “Wasistdas?”
// 05. EINDHOVEN //
“Food glorious food” and “You are what you eat”. At the Netherlands Institute for Design and Fashion a new exhibition on Food Culture: Eating by Design showcases work by designers who are concerned with the links between design, food, and the origins of what we eat.
// 06. PARIS //
Strolling along the Seine and wondering what to do in Paris this summer (other than eating croissants and visiting bars in Saint Germaine)? Go to the Marché aux Puces St-Ouen de Clignancourt! Open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 6pm, you can find anything from antiques to vintage, from clothing to music. Then pass by the Galerie Van Der Straeten and visit the exhibition Dissonances, interplay between furniture, objects, mirrors and lights.
