“Love is a promise; love is a souvenir, once given never forgotten, never let it disappear.”
(John Lennon)

Inspired by Valentine’s Day here are some quirky but fun design ideas to celebrate the day of Love. In fact nearly every day we fall in love with new objects and designs without even realising it. So let’s celebrate our love for design!

Love Sofa by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada for Corvasce Ecodesign

Spanish designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada created the ‘Love Sofa’ using recycled cardboards, moulding it into a honeycomb design. Available in six bright colours, they are exhibited in the Agatha Ruiz de la Prada shops around the world.

The Mini versions, also known as ‘Mini Love’, are colourful bookends to use on your shelves.

                         Inseper-able by Rolf Sachs

London based artist Rolf Sachs created the ‘Inseper-able’ from two classic Davoser ash hardwood sleds fused together like an 'inseparable' couple to create a surreal and sculptural coffee table/bench, "which takes your memory back to playful days in the snow." The ‘inseparable’ is produced by the renowned Swiss sled and luge-maker, Graf Schlitten in Sulgen, using the traditional wood bending technique… perfect for playing in the snow during this wintery spell!

                                   Lathe IX by Sebastian Brajkovic

Sebastian Brajkovic ‘Lathe’ furniture combines classic design with computer inspired 'stretching' to create a modern interpretation of antique style furniture. His work is so innovative that one of his pieces, Lathe VIII, is now exhibited in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

Petalo by Luigi Caccia Dominioni for Azucena

Petalo, designed by Luigi Caccia Dominioni, cleverly resolves the dilemma between the single and the double bed. Made of polished cherry structure and black lacquered edges, it is designed to enable to join the two beds together to form a double or to separate them so as to have two single beds. This project won the "Best Bed" Wallpaper 2010 Award.

         Brezza bathtub by Zaaf design

How about this new-style bathtub to share a conversation with your partner? The Brezza is shaped out of Corian and conveys a feeling of airiness and movement. Bathing transformed into a new social experience!

So good Together Stacking Vessels by Shanna Murrey

Ending this Valentine’s Day, we just had to find the combo porcelain vessels with Shanna’s signature lettering!  ‘We are so good together’ can be used for anything from sauces to salt. Useful and cute!
