Macef September, closed yesterday sunday 9th, is the twin event of Macef January. Both take place in the city of Milan, which is the perfect stage to showcase many talents to the market.
MACEF is indeed the International Home show, the most important meeting opportunity for exhibitors dealing with home design and for buyers who are making their orders for the new season. The aim of the event is mainly commercial but -as it often happens in Italy- excellence plays a big role and of course goes hand by hand with creativity, innovation and aesthetic research.
That's why while half of Inner Design editorial team is in Helsinki visiting the Design Week (follow the real-time reportage HERE), the remaining half had an interesting tour through MACEF, discovering that part of design and innovation that distinguishes this event from others around the world. MACEF does indeed offer all great international brands but also the best of small series production lines.
So that you can enter very refined places like the SELETTI exhibition and find V.I.P. designs as well as go for a walk through the new "CREAZIONI" corner, in which we have been very proud to meet a lot of designers member of our community.

What stands up very clearly is an idea of luxury especially oriented to the foreign markets. An entire pavillion is indeed dedicated to gold, precious crystal, venetian glass, handmade ceramic, baroque decorations and exotic ornaments. Along with this strong and intruding idea of "beauty" it also appears a fine and sharp trend that makes use of high end materials but assemble them with a design attitude.

We spotted many other interesting things but it would take really too much describing them all. So, keep on reading our blog and if you fell in love with some above object, watch out, it could also land in our ONLINE SHOP in a very close future ;)
