This conversion project by the design team at the London based studio CARL TURNER ARCHITECTS show us how to renovate rustic and turn it into contemporary though mantaining a rough touch. The results are breathtaking.
The Barn conversion was Completed just a few short years ago in 2010. The Ochre Barn was an old Norfolk barn but now is a stunning single family home that spans just under 4,800 square feet. The project was not easy at all, because the building was essentially stripped to a brick shell but the main goal of the operation was that to keep as many of the original elements as possible, in order to provide that barn feeling.
The old dirt floors were excavated, insulated and laid in polished concrete providing a nice contemporary finish to the residence.
We think the goal was successfully reached because we are totally in love with this building.
